Alan J. Fink, MD

Dr. Fink graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, Magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of South Carolina in 1979. Before practicing in Winchester, VA and Front Royal, VA, Dr. Fink graduated with a medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and went on to complete a medical & surgical internship at the Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Fink then completed his residency in ophthalmology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

While training at Tulane Medical Center, Dr. Fink presented his research to the Academy for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology as well as to the Theobold Society of Ocular Pathologists. He received the C.S. O’Brien Professorship Award for his work using the argon laser and has several articles published in the scientific journals regarding his research in genetics and ophthalmology. Dr. Fink is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Fink is originally from New York City, but has also lived in Pennsylvania and South Carolina. After finishing his residency in 1987, Dr. Fink moved to the northern Shenandoah Valley to start a solo private practice in ophthalmology. He opened his first office in Front Royal, Virginia and in 1994 opened a second office in Winchester, Virginia. He has two children, a son and a daughter, both of whom have graduated from college. His interests include photography, tennis, scuba diving, and cycling.

Michael J. Deiboldt, OD

Before relocating to Winchester, VA and Front Royal, VA, Dr. Deiboldt received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. He was selected for membership in the Tomb and Key Optometric Honor Society. After completing his training as a Doctor of Optometry in 1999, Dr. Deiboldt began his professional career in southern Maryland where he practiced for two years before relocating to a private practice in Hartsville, South Carolina where he practiced for three years. In 2004, Dr. Deiboldt accepted an associate position with Dr. Fink and has been an integral part of Blue Ridge Eye Specialists ever since.

Dr. Deiboldt has one son and resides in Winchester, Virginia. His interests include ice and in-line hockey, golf and tennis. He enjoys spending time with his son and attending professional sporting events.
